Garden of the Groves
Freeport, Grand Bahama Island –
Situated on 12 acres of lush, tropical landscape is Garden of the Groves, one of Freeport’s most popular attractions. This peaceful oasis has been certified as a Wildlife Habitat by the U.S. Wildlife Federation and it hosts thousands of visitors each month and with good reason.
In 1973, the park was dedicated to Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Groves, the founders of Freeport, and since then it has been transformed into a tranquil oasis.
At Garden of the Groves, you’ll find more than 10,000 species of flowers, plants, and trees, and all types of birds and butterflies. You’ll also see waterfalls, a meditation labyrinth, and beautiful, tropical greenery everywhere you turn.
Walk around the Garden with a guided tour or just explore it on your own. Signs will guide you around, highlighting the garden made up of trees and Bahamian flowers and other vegetation, so you won’t miss a thing. You’ll see tranquil lagoons and their waterfalls and there is even a Labyrinth for those who like to meditate.
